Oh good lord.
I really don't understand the hub-bub. The man won a Nobel prize. Even communists have to concede he made important contributions to human knowledge, right? Is the UofC faculty really this wacky? Naming a campus research institute after a Nobel laureate who taught for decades at the university seems like a no-brainer. Heck, you won't hear a peep out of me when MIT wants to name something after Noam Chomsky. Perhaps I'll pay for Naomi Klein to give the groundbreaking address.
Since when did Chomsky win a Nobel Prize? Even one of those crappy ones, like Economics or Peace?

He hasn't, but he has made some important contributions in linguistics.
"Is the UofC faculty really this wacky?"
